Coming up: Meeting to review Tower Terrace Road plans

To see how plans are coming along for extending Tower Terrace Road, let Drew Westberg know by Friday that you will attend a stakeholder meeting in Marion on Tuesday, April 7. (It’s 6:30 to 8 p.m., St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 8300 C Ave.)

He’s a long-range planning coordinator for the Corridor Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO). RSVP by calling 319-286-5067 or emailing him at d.westberg@cedar-rapids.org.

At an earlier meeting last year, several stakeholders spoke in favor of including bike lanes in the extension plans. Extending the road east from Robins Road will almost certainly increase its use by cyclists as well as motorists.

An emailed announcement said the meeting will focus on “draft models” of the proposed roadway, setting priorities and a preliminary alignment scenario.

Now would be a good time to let planners know you think complete streets are important and see what they have in mind.
