HBA weekend bike rides start March 28

Don’t let the ride schedule fool you.

The Hawkeye Bicycle Association’s official April weekend ride schedule actually starts in March.

March 28, to be exact.

At 9 a.m., at Greene Square Park in downtown Cedar Rapids.

We’ll pedal our way to Morgan Creek Park, carefully obeying traffic laws, then pedal our way back downtown. We might stop for breakfast somewhere along the way, and/or maybe stop in at the Blue Strawberry after the ride.

This out-and-back to Morgan Creek Park has become something of a tradition in recent years with a couple of different ride leaders. It’s short (15 miles or so) and pretty leisurely for most of us.

As ride “leader” this time, I’ll be bringing up the rear, and I’m in no hurry.

Get on your bikes and ride!
